twice_cursedHi! If you want to know a bit more about Balthiel, here's the quick version:
He's a psyker (psychic) Space Marine (genetically modified transhuman supersoldier) of the Flesh Tearers chapter (his particular religious chapter of Space Marines and they are as awful as the name indicates).
Flesh Tearers are descendants of Blood Angels, meaning they're the blood drinking vampire flavor of Space Marine. They also, like all Blood Angels, are susceptible to something called the Black Rage, which is basically like rage rabies. Every Flesh Tearer is fighting a losing battle against the Black Rage.
He's not a Primaris Astartes, meaning he's ONLY about 8 feet tall, but has a LOT of augments that make him bigger, stronger, and faster than most humans.
He can force thoughts, control machines with his mind, create forcefields and shoot lighting, among other fun and slightly oh my god that's too stupid to be real abilities.
He only seems mean and scary. Okay he's a LITTLE mean and scary. But well-intentioned! He has a surprisingly strong moral compass, especially for a Flesh Tearer. Has he told you lately how tasty your blood looks?
